Zippah was unmatched in two areas. The first is how well it inspired creativity through spontaneity. If you got stuck or wanted to try something out, more often than not your part or song or whatever you were working on was elevated to the next level "Put it through the Leslie", "lets use Mellotron for this part", "turn up the plate", "crank the Requisite" are all prime examples and go to Zippah moves that are so sophisticated yet felt so simple in the moment. This is due to the second area Zippah was unmatched in: the care the staff took with any clients that were in. It didn't matter if you were a new band or some big label group; you were treated with the same respect and access to the best hands, ears, people, gear and the best space. That was inspiring, unforgettable and truly special. You felt like someone was looking out for you, to actually try to help your record or song be as successful as possible. The new space will be different in some ways, but I know the Zippah magic will still be there because the ethos lives on. Thank you for so many wonderful years, memories, and recordings!
